The Office of Worcester County Sheriff requires integrity, leadership, and cooperation with allied agencies. My primary personal trait is integrity coupled with my ability to lead by example. This will provide the mature, cooperative leadership that the citizens of Worcester County need and deserve.Throughout my 25 years of law enforcement experience with the Maryland State Police, I have enjoyed a close working relationship with the past five Worcester County Sheriffs, the past four States Attorneys, and countless other officials. The contacts and relationships built during my many years of police service and as a lifelong resident are immense.
As a parent with two children in college, I know the tough economic times we are experiencing. My previous leadership experience with the State Police has provided me with the skills to adjust to today's economically-challenged conditions. The Worcester County Sheriff's Office must continue to provide the highest level of law enforcement services and at the same time be fiscally responsible. I have the abilities and experience to meet that challenge. My leadership style of cooperation, motivation, and participation combined with a lifetime of county involvement will enable me to initiate partnerships and programs that will reduce crime and enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Worcester County.
Mission Statement
The Worcester County Sheriff's Department should be a model law enforcement agency dedicated to working in partnership with the citizens of Worcester County and all other allied agencies.We will be committed to delivering police services which focus on both prevention and reduction of crime. We will be proactive - seeking to identify crime by utilizing a community policing philosophy. We will establish real and lasting partnerships with the concerned citizens of our communities. With a development of trust, we can focus on identifying crime, its root causes, and creative problem solving. We will maintain public trust by sustaining the highest standards of performance, professionalism, and ethics and by creating the safest environment in which to work, live, learn, and play.
