On July 10th, I attended a Pocomoke City Concerned Citizens crime meeting held at the Macedonia Baptist Church. In attendance were Pastors James Jones, Ronnie White and Isaac Jenkins. Also present were PocomokeTown Council members Tracey Cottman, Diane Downing, Bob Hawkins and Bruce Morrison. Chief Ervin and Lt. Koerner from the town police department were also there. Our States Attorney, Joel Todd, gave a presentation on the "Highpoints Operation". This unique crime fighting initiative has met with tremendous success in many cities across America. A similiar operation in Berlin, Maryland has been in place for the last year. If we are going to make a difference in our struggle to combat crime, it will only be because of teamwork. All of law lnforcement and our concerned citizens must join together in order to defeat those who terrorize our communities. I applaude those concerned citizens who have stepped forward, determined to make a difference.
